Senior Data Analyst – Data Products & Enterprise Platforms Location: Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract, Initial 12 month contract.
Rate: $750-900 a day plus super DOE
Security: Australian Citizenship required (ability to obtain Baseline Clearance)
The Opportunity We're partnering with a large enterprise currently undertaking one of the most significant cloud data platform transformations in Australia.
As part of a multi-year modernisation program, the organisation is migrating from a legacy Teradata/SAS environment to a modern Snowflake-based platform, building an enterprise data ecosystem that powers reporting, operational decision-making and future AI capability.
This is not a traditional analytics role.
Rather than producing dashboards or uncovering business insights, you'll play a critical role in designing, validating and delivering high-quality data products that enable others across the organisation to generate trusted insights.
With the majority of work focused on new development, you'll help integrate new data sources, shape enterprise data assets and ensure products are production-ready.
The Role Working within an agile, cross-functional squad alongside Data Engineers, Technical Business Analysts and Data Modellers, you'll contribute throughout the entire lifecycle of a data product.
Depending on the project, you may be responsible for:
- Profiling and understanding complex source datasets
- Data wrangling and assessing data quality
- Prototyping new data attributes and product designs
- Supporting engineers through the build of data pipelines and transformations
- Validating completed data products against business requirements
- Ensuring documentation, metadata and design artefacts are maintained
- Collaborating closely with technical stakeholders to deliver robust enterprise data assets
This role offers exposure across the full product lifecycle rather than focusing on a single stage of delivery.
What You'll Bring We're looking for someone with exceptional data fluency who enjoys working with data itself—not someone looking to move into Data Science or Business Intelligence.
You'll likely bring:
- Strong SQL skills (this role is almost entirely SQL-based)
- Experience working with large enterprise datasets
- Exposure to modern cloud data platforms, primarily Snowflake
- Experience performing data profiling, validation and quality assessment
- Ability to translate business requirements into well-designed data products
- Experience working alongside Data Engineers, Technical BAs and modelling teams
- Strong documentation and analytical thinking skills
- A collaborative mindset and genuine interest in delivering quality data products
Exposure to Python would be advantageous but is not essential.
Nice to Have - Python coding
- Experience within enterprise data platforms or modern data warehouses
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools for documentation, code generation or data profiling
- Understanding of data modelling concepts and ETL development
What Makes This Role Different? This team sits at the heart of the organisation's enterprise data platform.
Rather than building reports or analysing trends, you'll be responsible for creating the trusted data products that enable downstream analytics, reporting and operational systems.
It's an opportunity to work on one of Australia's largest enterprise data transformations while collaborating with experienced engineers, architects and data specialists using modern cloud technologies.
If you enjoy solving complex data problems, designing quality data assets and seeing your work become foundational products used across an organisation, this role offers an excellent opportunity to make a genuine impact.
