Are you an actuary with strong General Insurance experience and a desire to move into a more strategic and commercially impactful pricing role?

We’re partnering with a leading international insurer, currently seeking a Pricing Actuary to join their Sydney office and take ownership of the actuarial pricing for a high-profile portfolio of Financial Lines products – including D&O, PI, FI, Cyber, and Management Liability across Aus and NZ.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a lead pricing role, managing a small team and influencing product strategy, pricing decisions, and portfolio performance across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead pricing reviews and enhancements across key portfolios and digital products.
  • Design and refine pricing models and rating algorithms
  • Deliver actuarial advice to product and underwriting teams in a timely, commercial manner.
  • Contribute to strategic development of Financial Lines portfolios in line with broader business objectives
  • Lead performance reviews and profitability analysis of schemes and products
  • Drive process improvement and automation initiatives within the actuarial function
  • Mentor and guide a team of two analysts, fostering their development and capability
What we’re looking for
  • Qualified Actuary with 5-8 years’ experience in General Insurance
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid foundation in statistical and data modelling techniques
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in pricing or reserving, ideally with some exposure to commercial insurance products
  • Proficiency in SQL, R or Python desirable; experience with RADAR or EMBLEM a plus
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to manage competing deadlines and drive outcomes
