About the Opportunity
We are seeking two experienced Senior / Lead Data Engineers to join a greenfield data platform project for a boutique Data & AI consultancy who are working with a major enterprise client. This initiative involves setting up a brand-new GCP and BigQuery environment to support advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI use cases.
This is an exciting opportunity to join at the ground floor, helping shape the platform architecture and building the foundations for long-term success. While the initial term is 6 months, there is strong potential for extensions as the program of work expands into new data assets, solutions, and initiatives.

- Designing and implementing a greenfield BigQuery data warehouse within GCP.
- Building scalable, performant data pipelines using Python and SQL.
- Supporting data transformation and modelling to deliver high-quality datasets.
- Contributing to CI/CD practices and automation.
- Applying Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices (e.g., Terraform) for a reliable and repeatable environment.
- Collaborating with analytics, ML, and AI teams to enable advanced data use cases.
Required experience for the Senior / Lead Data Engineer ( GCP / BigQuery / SQL ) include:
- Strong experience with GCP and BigQuery – ideally having led a migration or greenfield implementation.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data engineering.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tooling.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or similar).
- Background in designing and delivering data transformation frameworks.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and greenfield projects.
