Elastic Observability Engineer – Telco Client | 6–12 Month Daily Contract | Sydney (Hybrid)
We are seeking an experienced Elastic Observability Engineer to design, implement, and operate an enterprise-scale observability platform using the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Elastic Observability).
The role delivers end-to-end observability across hybrid and cloud environments, covering logs, metrics, traces, uptime, and APM, enabling faster incident detection and root-cause analysis.
You’ll work closely with SRE, DevOps, Platform, and Application teams to onboard services, define standards, and improve observability maturity.
Responsibilities:
Elastic Certified Observability Engineer, OpenTelemetry, enterprise/hybrid-cloud experience, ITSM tools (ServiceNow/PagerDuty).

Responsibilities:
- Deploy and operate Elastic Observability platform (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Beats, Logstash, APM).
- Ensure cluster performance, scalability, reliability, and high availability.
- Build dashboards, alerts, and ingestion pipelines; troubleshoot performance issues.
- Automate provisioning using IaC (Terraform, Ansible, Helm) and support Kubernetes/container deployments.
- Collaborate with teams to onboard services, define observability standards, and optimize ILM, retention, and cost.
- Hands-on Elastic Stack experience; Elasticsearch internals, indexing, performance tuning.
- Kubernetes and cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) experience; Linux, networking, distributed systems knowledge.
- CI/CD, automation (Python/Bash). SRE/DevOps/Platform background.
