Analytics Engineer (DBT / Snowflake / Looker)
Sydney / Hybrid
Initial 3-6 month contract with view to extend

Talent Insights Group is seeking a skilled Analytics Engineer to join a dynamic team within a growing Fintech on a 3-6 month contract basis. As an Analytics Engineer, you will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into valuable insights using advanced analytics tools and platforms. Your expertise in DBT (Data Build Tool), Snowflake, and Looker will be essential in developing and maintaining robust data pipelines and analytical solutions.
  
Responsibilities for the Analytics Engineer include:
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using DBT (Data Build Tool) to transform raw data into a structured format suitable for analysis.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Implement data modeling best practices to ensure scalability, performance, and reusability of data pipelines.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot existing data pipelines to ensure efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to data pipelines, data models, and data dictionaries.
  • Work closely with data analysts and business stakeholders to provide actionable insights through the creation of Looker dashboards and reports.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of queries and data processing jobs within Snowflake.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation and monitoring processes.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and analytics.
  
  
Requirements for the Analytics Engineer include:
  • Proven experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role, preferably within the fintech industry.
  • Hands-on experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) for building and managing data pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Snowflake for data warehousing and managing large-scale datasets would be highly advantageous
  • Strong expertise in Looker for developing and maintaining dashboards and reports would also be a bonus, otherwise a comparable such as Tableau / Power BI would suffice
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages for data manipulation and automation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  
Education and Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in DBT, Snowflake, or Looker are a plus.
  
Duration and Location:
  • This is a 3-6 month contract position based in Sydney with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.
