AI Automation Engineer (Data & GenAI)

$120-150k base DOE plus super
  
We’re hiring a hands-on AI Automation Engineer to help build and scale AI-powered systems used across global operations.

This role sits within a small Data Science & GenAI team responsible for building automation workflows, LLM-powered tools and modern data infrastructure that supports commercial decision making across multiple international markets.
You’ll work on real production systems from day one - including AI-driven automation, voice AI projects, and large-scale data platforms.
  
Day to day life for the AI Automation Engineer (Data & GenAI) includes:
AI & Automation

• Build and deploy LLM-powered workflows and automation pipelines
• Integrate AI tools such as Claude, Gemini or similar APIs into production systems
• Develop automation using APIs, webhooks and workflow tools
• Design and evaluate prompt workflows and RAG-based AI systems

Data Engineering

• Build and maintain data pipelines and modern data infrastructure
• Work with Databricks and Azure data platforms
• Develop notebooks, pipelines and data processing workflows

Product & Internal Tools

• Develop lightweight internal tools and dashboards
• Integrate third-party platforms and services
• Turn business problems into working technical solutions quickly

  
Example Project
One of the first projects involves building tools on top of a large global dataset of customer call recordings (~60k per day).
You’ll help develop systems that:

• analyse conversations
• automate quality assurance
• generate insights from unstructured voice data.

  
Tech Environment

• Python
• SQL
• Databricks
• Azure
• LLM APIs (OpenAI / Claude / Gemini)
• Workflow tools (e.g. n8n)
• APIs and webhook-based integrations

  
What We’re Looking For

• Strong Python engineering skills
• Experience integrating APIs and building automation workflows
• Experience with LLM tools or AI applications
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms or modern data stacks
• Comfortable working across AI systems and data pipelines

• can independently ship working solutions

We’re looking for a mid-senior level engineer who builds and delivers, rather than a purely architectural or research-focused profile.
